Fountain on Mr. Lincoln Square is complete and running!!!!

If you are ever in town visiting or just cruising around Mr. Lincoln Square in downtown Clinton, be sure to check out the fountain.  The fountain was designed by our very own Class of 73 Patrick Peterson.  The completion of the fountain took place over the Memorial Day weekend.  It is made out of granite and sits in a pool with sheets of water coming over the top of the lit up faces. Each cube is incorporated into the history of Clinton.  Peterson says the fountain is his contribution to the city and fulfilling his civil duty. Thanks Patrick!!!

KEVIN EUGENE FLEMING passed away June 29, 1997

Hard to believe it has been 14 years since we had to say good-bye.  Wish you'd been here to share in many great times and memories.  Know you are a part of each celebrated occasion and reunion.

GRADUATION CLASS OF 1973 JUNE 1, 1973

THIRTY EIGHT YEARS AGO TODAY The Class of 1973 graduated from Clinton High School.  We were the first class to graduate from the new building, and therefor, graduation was a little different this year.   There were 149 graduates.  it seemed to go faster this time but maybe that was becasue we were the ones graduating.  Many of the mid-term graduates came back to attend the formal ceremonies with the rest of the class.  Several of our class hadd graduated earlier and were already working and attending other schools.  The graduation exercises were crowded with all the seats on the floor taken, and most of the bleachers filled. 

The program included songs by the band and chorus, and special number requested by the senior class by Sara Jenkins "O Bless the Lord My Soul."  The welcoming address was given by Maureen Krueser.

 



Chris Weikel, our class president, then looked by on our four years in high school. 

Paul Gregor as student council president gave his thoughts on the council accomplishment this last year.

Mr Futrell was the main speaker of the evening.  He admonished us to look ahead and fulfill our goals.  The diplomas were then awarded by Mr. Carl Troxel, the school board president.  The class then sang the traditional "Alma Mater" and turned their tassels.

A big shout out to our very own Patrick Peterson!!!!  Patrick's fountain design was picked by the City of Clinton to replace the old fountain on the square.

THE BARN QUILT BLOCK IS FINISHED!

A BIG...HUGE...SHOUT OUT goes to Patrick Peterson for his talent and dedication to the "Pride of the Prairie" Barn Quilt.  Patrick says that it is finally finished at least the painting and assembly is.  Now all that remains is the installation and the oohs and aahs.  Thanks also goes to Cris Rogers for helping Patrick with the finishing of the frame work!

BARN QUILTS OF DEWITT COUNTY

THE BARN QUILTS OF DEWITT COUNTY
 a project of the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, is proud to announce the acceptance of their first barn.  Congratulations to Kenny May, whose centennial farm is located on Drive-In Road.  The "Pride of the Prairie" quilt block will adorn the side of the May's barn.  The quilt block is being painted by the Class of 73, the group responsible for the Roque Court Peace Park Project in Clinton.  May's involvement with the Class of 73, as well as his family's history, will be honored in the quilt square.
